Bonding / Bridges / Partials
There are many other services that Palmetto Family Dentistry perform. Each patient is different and each patient will be advised treatment that will suit them best, however they are plenty of options. A few of these options are: bonding, bridges, partials, dentures or veneers. Not every option will be suitable to every patient. Bone structure, bone loss, medical history and hygiene may all be factors in your specific treatment.
Bonding is used to close spaces in between teeth, lengthen small or misshapen teeth or to fix the appearance of whiten stained or dark stained teeth. If bonding is not sufficient or if it is for numerous teeth, we can recommend veneers. Veneers are porcelain shells that are placed over your teeth to improve color and shape.
Bridges may be used to ‘bridge the gap’ between teeth. This will replace a missing tooth. This is a permanent appliance.
When you have several teeth missing in one arch you may be advised to wear a partial. These are usually removable appliances that are held into place by clasps that fit around some of the remaining teeth.
Dentures may be considered if a patient has all upper or all lower teeth missing. Dentures are removable and are excellent for promoting proper jaw joint functions. They also provide support for lips and cheeks.
All of the above appliances are custom made and matched to your existing teeth.
